Friday-August-20-2021 edition of Forward Positiwe, a community newsletter by Vishnu Goyal to inspire you do more, live well, and stay happy.

đź“‹ Sun never rises, Sun never sets! The only question is; do you rise up to the Sun or keep yourself set up to the Sun!
💬 Life always keeps throwing new challenges at us and throwing us into situations we don’t want to be in. We have two choices there–
Either: Get ourselves ready to “fight back” those challenges with a fierce outlook. It will make us feel joy even in those unwanted situations. Every moment will be a bright one. That’s the “light” attitude.
Or: Have a miserable outlook on things, blame life and people around for those unwanted situations, be hopeless, and stay in the dark. That’s the “dark” attitude.
While we can’t avoid the circumstances we will go through, our “light” versus “dark” attitude will determine if we have the “light” or “darkness” in our lives.
So yes, the light within you is always there. You just need to maintain the “light” attitude.

đź“‹ you cannot accumulate a sleep debt during the week, and then hope to pay it off in full at the weekend.
đź’¬ You need (approx.) 7 hours of daily sleep for a healthy lifestyle.
One day you sleep only for (say) 5 hours. Next day, you sleep for (say) 9 hours to make up for the previous day’s sleep debt of 2 hours.
Will that work?
Science says no.
We can’t adjust one day’s sleep with another day’s.
Takeaway: Don’t borrow time from sleep. It’s not a bank loan that you can borrow today and repay tomorrow.

đź“‹ “Friendship is what everybody needs. Because sometimes when life sends pain and suffering, they are the only ones you can run to. Just like a family.”
💬 Only friends are better than friendship! If you’re lucky enough to have real friends in your life, don’t let them go, ever. Give help whenever you can, whenever they need. And don’t shy away from asking for help when you need too. It’s happy together.

📋 “People want hope. You need to channel your energy into providing hope for people and help them with your expertise.” – Brian Clark
đź’¬ We all have something positive within and around that we can share with the world and give people some hope and inspiration.
For example, Forward Positiwe is a way for me to connect with you and share stories, anecdotes, ideas, and insights that I find inspiring. And it makes me so happy to see you enjoying it.
Whenever I share something positive, it makes me feel even better, more hopeful, more energized.
The point is, whatever we have, we can create something out of it that can help people, and we must do it. It can be small. It can be big. But it must not be nothing. And, it’s for our own good. As they say, happiness comes back to you!

📋 just because you don’t know everything right now doesn’t mean you are destined to fail. If you’ve been recently hired, promoted, or find yourself in a new, challenging professional situation that pushes you beyond your limits—it’s usually for a reason.
đź’¬ How do scientists innovate?
They come up with an idea to create something new that nobody has ever created.
Do they know at the start how they will be creating? How they will be bringing their idea to life?
Of course not.
But they don’t stop. They walk the uncertain path. Fail multiple times. Keep learning from each failure. And finally, they go from one day to day one. Day one when their idea comes to life. Day one when they succeed at what they started probably days, weeks, months, or years ago.
Now, apply this “innovation approach” to anything new you set your eyes at to achieve.
Do you know everything right from the start?
Of course not.
Can you learn by putting effort and doing practice?
Yes, indeed.
Then, why fear?
Be confident at anything and everything you set your mind to. Be assured that you can do it.

📋 One thing that I started doing in 2020 that’s been immensely helpful is a quarterly “Think Week” with my brother Chet. For Think Week, I don’t take any meetings or calls and just spend time thinking and writing. I’ve found that taking a Think Week is a great way to force me to take a step back from the day-to-day and think more holistically about company strategy.
💬 Think about a time when you have two hours of time, all for yourself, “uninterrupted” by no one, “uninterrupted” by nothing.
Can you recall one?
Me neither.
In pursuit to do more, attending back-to-back meetings, 24-7 connectivity, and juggling through endless to-dos, it’s very usual to be left with no time to do the real thinking. Not discussion, not meetings, but thinking. Thinking by yourself about what your goals are, what your ambitions are, and if you are doing the right things to get there.
That’s why to stay on the right track, we must make time for self-thinking. Take off time to do nothing but think and reflect. While you and me might not be able to take a week off for thinking, we can probably take an hour or two from each week and do it. And we can call that “Think hour!”
Sounds cool?

Before you leave, a thought from my Scrawlbook:
Only lucky ones of us fail.
Not all people have the opportunity to fail in life, embrace change, deal with a setback, move on to achieve a goal they set for themselves, and have true taste of what it means to win.
So, if you have ever failed, you are one of the lucky ones. Because, a life without a setback would be like a plain road; really boring!
I am also one of the lucky ones.
Until next time, keep living your fullest, Mate ✌️
And feel free to forward Forward Positiwe to your family ‘n’ friends if sounds cool to you : )
